Al-Alsun ensures that all our interpreters and translators adhere to the following Code of Ethics:
Confidentiality: The translator (interpreter) or any other staff member of Al-Alsun will not disclose any information transmitted to him/her during the performance of interpretation or translation, unless required by law.
Respect for Persons: All translators (interpreters) and Al-Alsun staff members shall demonstrate respect towards all persons involved in a project situation.
Impartiality: Our staff, either a translator or an administrator, shall show no preference or bias towards any other party.
High Fidelity: The interpreter/translator will translate the message faithfully, conveying, to the best of his/her ability, all contents of the message. Interpretation and Translation will be provided without addition, omission, or distortion of meaning.
Conflict of Interest: Al-Alsun will disclose to all parties any actual or apparent conflict of interest. Any condition that interferes with the objectivity of an interpreter or translator constitutes a conflict of interest. A translator / an interpreter should not engage in any project involving appearance of bias, prejudice, or partiality.
Competence: Al-Alsun will only accept assignments in areas for which its staff have been trained, and in those language areas for which Al-Alsun staff have been “screened”. Al-Alsun will ensure that its staff maintain professional competency through participation in in-house translation workshops and training.
